I received a call from this number 26.08.2021 at 19:09 hrs and didn't answer it, just checked the number on here. However I too have recently placed an order with Curry's/PcWorld, online, so it seems something is not secure on their website.

Had a call from this number about a currys/pc world order that was due to arrive. They wanted to know full name and address for data protection. When I asked why he said it was just to make sure he was speaking to the right person. When I said I’d never had to do this before on other orders from currys/pc world they said ‘if you don’t feel comfortable with this call you can call us’ and hung up.

I am concerned after seeing the number of pepole who have been called from number and pretending to be from Currys. I have only placed an order with them yesterday and it is worrying to think someone has access to this information at Currys

I had this as well, they didn't ask for any personal details they were just trying to sell insurance on the product I had ordered, so I said I wasn't interested and then hung up

I had a call from this number and he congratulated me on my purchase from curry’s and I would I like to take out a care plan so I signed up. He then phoned back on 01501 527011 and it was the same bloke. NatWest confirmed it’s a scammer so beware, I moved my money out of my account the moment he phoned back the second time

I made an order with curry's 2 days ago and i have been receiving calls from this number I haven't answered them as by reading everyone else's comments it seems to be a scam. So the number has been blocked.

Just got a call from 0121599 0117 - didn't answer it as I didn't recognise the number. Interesting that I have also just ordered something from Currys. This needs to be investigated and will not buy from Currys again

Man called today at 4.05 pm saying they were from Curry’s and asked if I had purchased anything from them recently I told him no we haven’t purchased anything for at least 2 -3 years so he asked for my address I only gave him the first line and I told him I was writing everything down and he said the address was not the one he had on his records so I said that’s it then and I closed the call .

Received a call from this number this afternoon. Knew my name and strangley recent order placed with Currys. When asked which branch they're based at, the male caller hung up. The scam I assume is get your personal details, etc. If you decide to purchase protection plan they also obtain financial details and then they go shopping on you!

Knew what I had orderd and my details from my recent currys purchase, my guess is details have been sold/given to a 3rd party for warranty and other all sorts. Lady wasnt pushy but was a pay X and get Y kind of call.

Have called me twice within the last few days but I never answer unknown phone numbers (they can leave a message if its important). I have ordered from Currys in the last couple weeks so this matches up with other comments. Concerning how they would get this information. I will block the number.

Called me twice, I declined call as out of the country. I made a recent order from Curry's PC World. Sounds like insider information.

Exactly what happened. They asked me to confirm my address and date of birth. Which I did. Mistake on my end. I thought they actually were currys as they knew my order and when I placed it. They tried selling me warranty to which I said I'll think about it and go to the store to purchase.

As above. Trying to sell protection plan on recently purchased product. Already declined as part of the purchase process. Heavy sell as these policies earn more for Currys than the margin on the item sold.

Update. It's not a scam. It's literally curry's trying to offer you a protection plan / extra insurance on your products. Which you've already declined while making the order?! It just them trying to make extra money as all business does.
