December 2025 got a call from 0800 0584340 to say they are calling from Santander fraud prevention and a large amount was scheduled to be taken out of our account. I suspect they were trying for us to move money to a 'safe' account. Very convincing, they had a lot of personal details. They were still trying to convince us whilst we were talking to Santander on another phone. Scary, be very aware!
December 2025 got a call from 0800 0584340 to say they are calling from HSBC fraud prevention. He didn't ask any security questions. This is a scam telephone number
It was combined with a very plausible looking e-mail yesterday from PayPal showing a request from the same Evelyn Arriaza saying that I have sent a payment of £579.99 GBP... with a specific Transaction ID When I contacted PayPal I was informed that such a transaction ID did not exist and yet a payment had been issued - but I was able to Cancel it. It told me 'This request has been cancelled. You will see it in your completed transactions soon.'
i got an email saying i had made a payment of £579.79 via PayPal so i logged into PayPal cancelled it ... but was still stupid enough to ring the number via the transaction !! My daughter pointed out it wasn't the right number ...so i called PayPal with the right number thankfully it got sorted ! I think i was thrown and panicked and then you don't think straight .... so beware people don't be stupid like me .....it could be very costly ! Just want to warn people of the utter scumbags out there ....
The message supposedly from Evelyn Arriaza falsely claims that you have already sent the money. > Evelyn Arriaza > 19 December 2022·Cancelled - Request received - £579.99 GBP > Request received from > Evelyn Arriaza > Transaction ID : A-X0X0X0X0X0X0X0X0X > Note > You've Sent a Payment of £579. 99 GBP to AVAST ONE. > If The Transaction is Unauthorized Contact Our Customer Support @ +44 800 058 4350 > Details > Money request amount £xxx.xx GBP > Total £XXX.XX GBP Obviously a scam, but slightly cleverer than the run of the mill
SCAM: NOTE FROM JESSICA S POPE: You've Sent a Payment of £679. 99 GBP to TotalAV. If The Transaction is Unauthorized Contact Our Customer Support @ +44-800-058-4340
Fraudlent paypal notice saying you've already paid something.
SCAM: On a paypal payment request: "You've Sent a Payment of £679. 99 GBP to TotalAV. If The Transaction is Unauthorized Contact Our Customer Support @ +44-800-058-4340" - obvious fraud/scam
Paypal users are being advised to call this number if the (fake) payment notice they recieve is unauthorised. Needless to say didnt call it.
