Definitely a scam! “You have a 50%discount on O2”; I said great, will use it in the app or online , on my account. The guy: “no you cant, you can’t use it anywhere except with me on the phone” .. yeah all right, because thats how this works .. put the phone down, blocking the number
Claimed to be o2 had my email, dob, ect was trying to get me to upgrade when I told him I wasn’t interested he hung up, scan I’m thinking.
This number called and I let it ring out so that I could call back. The call connected and a legitimate-sounding exchange message said "Thank you for calling O2, please hold for an advisor." When the call connected a male answered and said "Hello, who is this please....?" This was so not O2, the laughing and shouting in the background gave this away too. SCAM!
Claimed to be O2. New my name and which phone I had. Tried offering me a "special discount" which is on my account, offering me a new tablet for £17. When I asked if I could see this on the app, he said he could send me a link to my email address. At this point I told him I wasn't interested and cut off the call.
Didn’t answer as been getting loads of these calls on the past few days. Blocked them now
Called offering 50% off new ipad , asked for bank detail Including 3 digit security number to enable a credit check then I terminated the call. They knew my security question answer and had full view of my account and knew my email address. Very worrying breach
Claimed to be from o2, knew my name, address and latest phone I upgraded to plus how long i had been with o2. Was offering me new deals including an ipad but I didn't want anything so the call was ended.
Said they were from 02 doing a 6monthly review. Knew details of my o2 account! I hung up rang O2 and they said this is not them! Beware folks
This phone number is actually a partnering company from o2
Guy said he was from o2 .... and wanted to do a 6 month check in to make sure all was okay! Knew my name! Still think it's a scam! Blocked!!
They don't know it's legit. they called to sell me a tablet for £16? New my details. Read out terms and conditions. Asked go do a credit check. Gave details. Don't know if it's a scam or not. Because my credit is low they asked for a deposit of £225? And said I would get it back? That's when I became fishy.
Claimed to be from o2 offering rewards for loyalty, when Called back automated message says “you’ve been called my o2 but there’s nothing to worry about, press 1 to talk to advisor, 2 to opt out” Think it’s a scam as they ask for a code
