Was told I qualified for discount on my bill. Put phone down when they asked me name as they should know it if they rang me. Got to be some kind of a scam

Informed me that my phone bill was rising and that I had to pay via the number and when I asked them to confirm my operator and my current bill and the new bill they hung up
