Said virgin media and it was a 1 day offer ..I asked them to call back tomorrow n they agreed ...something not right about it
Genuine call from Virgin media to review package as deal ended. Received paperwork and all genuine it seems.
It was virgin offering me upgrades even tho I only renewed 3 weeks ago and this is the second call
Said she was from Virgin Media, wanted to offer me an upgrade on the package I've only taken out 6 months ago and still have 12 months left on. Wouldn't take no for an answer Hung up and blocked the number.
Please note this number is NOT a scam and is from Virgin Media albeit from their Phillipines base. My package with VM runs out this month. The offer I have received is very good and I have received all documents from VM. Also, no details of bank or direct debit are requested as they have the information. Please remove reference to 'Negative' as VM customers are losing out on good deals being offered by not taking the calls.
Scammers knew my address, name and that my Virgin media contract was expiring on a particular date. Offered a new 3 times broadband speed and twice the number of tv channels only for £5 more a month. If I wanted to renew the same package as last time, the price was THE SAME!! Threatened to cancel my account , when I asked to be transferred to retention team. That’s when I knew that he was a scammer! Phoned proper Virgin on 150 , renewed my contract. Obviously the plan price has gone up since 18 months! They confirmed they DO NOT call existing customers!!!!
The caller wanted me to confirm my name. I didn’t hear clearly who was calling. When I said Pardon. The man hung up.
After multiple missed calls, I did actually answer this today. It definitely seemed to be a genuine call from Virgin Media (they confirmed details such as when my current discount is coming to an end) but it was a very heavy, very pushy sales call - trying to force me to "upgrade" my package to pay for for things that I do not want and do not need. Quite unpleasant and took nearly 20 minutes out of my evening!
Lady said she is from virgin media and wanted to confirm if I was happy with the service they provide and wanted to make sure I get the best value for my money 🤣🤪.
The caller wanted me to confirm my name and then stated he was from virgin media, at which point I told him I knew he wasn't then I hung up as virgin media has told me before they do not contact customers they wait for you to contact them if you have problems
