This isn't a scam. It is Experian and they do onboarding checks for employers.

As the person above, number shows as Experion (notice the o not a) regarding an employee reference. Was very dodgy so terminated the call without giving any information.

Say they are from Experion and want to talk about a previous employee (giving a name we don't recognise and we don't employ anyone). Very fast speaker with an accent, so very difficult to understand and just doesn't feel genuine. Have had calls 2 days on the run at around 4.30pm. Have blocked the number.
