Imbeciles from India/Pakistan trying to scam. DO NOT ANSWER
Second phone call in 2 days, first one came up as a number in Wales, today a Northern Ireland number, sounded like the same woman offering 45% discount - said she was from O2 then when I questioned her she couldn’t answer basic info - said I was aware this is a scam, she hung up when I kept asking her questions about their scam.
Hung up when I answered the phone. I blocked immediately
Two guys with, what sounded to me like African accents, claimed to be from O2. They said they were offering a 100% discount on phone charges for 11 months. I would receive a text message from them and they said I would need to quote the six-digit reference. I did indeed receive such a message, and it looked as though it was a genuine 02 communication, though undoubtedly one initiated by them. Presumably this would have given them access to my phone records - were I with O2. However I left O2 several years ago. And I didn't give it to them anyway. There was a humourous side to this after I asked them where they were personally situated. "206 Bath Road" came the answer. (presumably the O2, HO). "In what town", I asked. "Slugg" came the response. "How is that spelled" I asked. "S-L-O-U-G-H" came the reply. "Ah! Is it sunny in Slugg", I asked. "How long have you lived in Slugg?" Quite a fun one that.
No comment when answered don't know who called
Called trying to change my phone contract and offering 30% discount but nothing would change. When refused was challenged on my decision until i stated it was a landline and they said have a nice day and hung up. Blacklist the number.
Claimed they were calling from 3 which is strange considering they seem to be calling people claiming to be from o2 aswell. Offered me a brand new phone on a cheaper contract at no cost. Total scam.
Calling from 'the carphone warehouse company' to sell me a limited time offer on a new iPhone. When asked where he was calling from he gave the carphone warehouse head office address in London. When challenged that it was a local Northern Irish number he hung up. Scam!
BEWARE scam, saying Sam from o2, offering 40% discount if I give him my o2 code but couldn't tell me my name 😱
Calls but no one speaks. Now twice in 2 hours
I got James and David (With Indian accents). Offering a mobile contract. As soon as I was told that I didn't have to worry about my phone contract, that the new SIM would take over it. I ended the call and blocked the number. Stay safe especially during the festive season! Be suspicious of all unexpected calls/texts/emails.
Said it was O2 Head office support - total scam
