asked for me by name and said he was from ministry of justice !!!!!!!!!!!!!! this would cause stress to a lot of people i always ask who they are which always ends in caller ending the c12all,
He knew my name and when I asked if he was trying to sell me something, as I am registered with the TPS and should not be receiving unsolicited calls, he told me to 'F*** Off, then'. I replied, 'Same to you' and hung up!
Foreign accent male rang, said he was ringing from UK Financial Services and wanted to send me a cheque in the post for bank charges refunds. My elderly mother had answered the call at the same time as me and I listened into the phone call. He told her he had her name and address and postcode and then asked her for her date of birth. I intervened at this point and told her to hang up her extension. When I challenged him about ringing my elderly mother for her personal information he would not answer any questions and he eventually put the phone down - he was paying for the call so I let the silence continue! This is a scam to obtain money from the vulnerable and elderly who would not think to withhold their personal information such as DOB or bank details. Phone companies need to take action and stop this - I'm not listed anywhere on directory enquiries so I would also like the government to take action and stop allowing anyone to have my phone details when I have taken every step possible to keep my details private.
Phoned telling me they had a cheque to send for refund of bank charges. Had my name and address, wanted my date of birth. When asked which bank were refunding charges just repeated UK Financial Services. Told me they would cancel cheque if I didn't give date of birth. I said that would be fine and hung up. Its time uk phone numbers were stopped from being given to overseas callers.
