Received a call from this number wanting to make sure the loft insulation is worn off and sending someone from Energy Efficiency Department today to check my loft insulation. I said I am happy with my insulation and does not want anyone to check it. Asked me whether I am the owner of the property.

An Asian-sounding woman CLAIMED that she was from the "Consultancy Dept. of the Financial Services Authority", CLAIMED that she was calling "about your mortgage: you've paid off your mortgage"... Well, I had a call exactly like the above a few days ago. I (angrily) told that woman (probably the same as the one who called me today) that I've never had a mortgage in this lifetime, that she was therefore trying to scam me, and I put the phone down. Can't recall what the number was, from which the call came, a few days ago (I looked it up at the time), but today's call was from 020 3996 2311. Quite obviously an attempt to scam gullible people, in whatever way.
