Do not answer this number ‭0191 671 9927‬ or similar numbers; it’s either fraudsters trying to acquire your personal ‘sensitive information’ for God knows what deceitful act, or an agency collecting consumer data in the guise of a government run national call centre carrying out a consensus or survey for which home utilities/services brands you use. They also pose as reputable British companies such as BT, British Gas, Sky, Southern Electric etc. with their main goal to confirm what little information they have managed to collate surrounding your address, DOB, name and and home service providers for Gas, Internet etc. is correct. Do not give them any information as once you confirm your details they’ll hang up purely because they have what they need. In other words they have accurate up to date consumer data to sell on to call centres, sales organisations or marketing agencies which will ultimately result in identity fraud or cold calls from some call centre probably half way around the world acting on behalf of a large company to try and sell you a ‘better service’ or save you money! To minimise the risk of identity fraud or Data agencies acquiring your info, carry out a google search on yourself by simply googling your full name. The results will show you personal information that’s available to the general public. I was shocked to learn anyone can view my playlists from YouTube, search history, watched history, all of the social media sites I have an account with. I advise going over your privacy/security settings in every profile you’ve ever created and deselect any category that is available for public viewing.
