An Indian guy called saying he was from Telephone Preference Service. Was asking if the telephone bill was paid by direct debit. I said yes. He then said the debit card on the account had expired in 2019. He was asking for a new debit card expiry date. I said if the bill is paid by direct debit you don't need to know debit card details as direct debits are account no and sort code only. He was insistent and so was I in telling him not to treat me like a fecking idiot. Also, I believe to join the telephone preference service this was free.

Asian voice, kept asking for the householder but wouldn’t explain why or leave a message. They rang off.
