Always do search on numbers I don't recognise on my landlines. Claimed to be from sky. Lady with Indian accent. After seeing these comments as I had already accepted the call I then hung up

01822300019 and 01822300023 called me as soon as i hung up from the first. i put my phone to block unknown numbers which has really worked now :) because before realizing it was off. I have 4 calls from these 01 numbers within the space of 70 seconds... i hung up on all of them. but they were instantly calling me again. i have a friend who works in Indian and he said that these scammers get paid very well for their business and its seen as quite a high title job. PAH! if you can, get your phone settings to block unknown and withheld numbers, it saves you sooo much bother :D
Said they where from EE who I am with. Said they can upgrade my phone for £35 per month. Asked what phone I would like. I advised I was not interested. When he asked why I said I paid for my phone outright. He then asked how much I pay a month to which I replied if you where calling from EE that information should be on your system. He said that information is only held by the security team. He soon hung up
Fraudulent call. Caller will likely use the first part of your mobile phone number 07XXX to personalise the call so they'll claim to be from O2 if your number was originally issued by O2 or one of its subsidiaries, despite the fact you might be on another network. My number was originally an O2 number so that's who they claimed to be, despite me having moved to EE a long time ago
Hi, this is definitely a number used by scammers. I am with EE and their fraud team are investigating a number of scams where these scammers call EE customers and get basic details whilst typing into a webchat with EE pretending to be the customer. They order a new phone to arrive at EE customer's home (they did this to me and the phone is here next to me) and then they contact you to say a phone has arrived by mistake and we are sending someone to collect it. They then steal the phone. They are abusive on the call. They last called me yesterday to say they would take money out of my bank account if I didn't send the phone to them immediately
Calling with Indian accent and sound not very clear trying to offer mobile or internet promotion but I said I will leave UK tomorrow I don't want it then she hung up.
So fed up with constant scam callers. All day every day. I wonder who sells on my details
Scam call pretending to be from 'Virgin Media', had nothing to do so played along for 30 mins giving them false information to the point including fake bank details. The lady then told me to 'go to hell' when she realised I had not given my real details. 100% a scam - do not answer unless you also intend to waste their time
Claiming to be 02. 30% discount. Passes you to another ‘agent’. Tavistock number. Indian sounding callers. Scam.
Caller claiming to be O2, strong Indian accent. Highly unlikely to be O2 from a Tavistock number. Have blocked number
Scam call re: O2
This was exactly my experience. I received a call from this number and they hung up the moment I picked up the call.
Call said from Tavistock. Female caller, strong Indian accent. Said from Carphone Warehouse (interesting to read others have said from O2!) Line was very crackly, said something about offers & did I think they were good. Due to line quality I just kept saying “hello??”, then put the phone down & blocked them! Do not answer. Strongly suspect scam call from abroad rather than Tavistock!
HADA CALL JUST 020822 SAYING THEY WERE FORM 3 AND OFFERING AN UPGRADE ALL SOUNDED PLAUSIBLE UNTIL THE END WHEN THEY SAID MY NAME IS SAM WILSON AND YOU CAN SUE ME IF UNHAPPY THIS WAS A GENTLEMAN WIHT STRONG INDIAN ACCENT BY THEN HE HAD MY DETAILS HAVE CALLED 3 IT WAS NOT THEM ALL BANK DETAILS NOW CANCELLED THEY ALSO CALLED ME BACK ON MOBILE 07846 315518
01822300023 called me at 1342 on Tuesday 2nd August 2022. My phone's Smart Call function flagged this call as "Potential Fraud" and within 4 rings the caller had hung up before I could cancel the call myself.
