Say they are a company called Welcome ID? who are updating records. I requested that my fathers number be taken off their database as he is 93 and suffering from dementia. The young girl on the other end apologised for any distress caused and that his number would be removed immediately.
Got call from this number, they knew my surname and it sounded like they were in a pub, after a few seconds they hung up.
Had a call from this nearby Rotherham number. Background noise sounded like a call center. No voice. Caller hung up when I said hello.
Called sat am asking for my husband by name.the caller claimed to have info that he had history of working in industry and may be entitled to compensation.I told them that they were given wrong info,as neither my husband or myself had ever worked in industry and both work for NHS.Hopefully that will be the end of it.Afterwards suspected it was a phishing call.
