Didn't bother to answer. I have read it is a scam. It will be about a tax refund but it's a lie.

Knew my name and email address. I asked for information on email as my SON deals with things like this. Call dropped. Claimed to be PPI.

PPI Tax Refund Scam - I'm owed thousands from a £94 claim so i'm told, wouldn't that be nice!!

I had a call this morning from 0161 394 1669 from an Asian Woman who knew my name. She said she was calling about a HMRC refund so I just hung up. Tried calling the number back and it does not exist.

Got a woman who woke me up knew my name, purported to be claiming a refund from Hmrc and then also ppi on cards etc I thought ppi had finished. Said I was disabled for years and due nothing as hadn’t paid anything, she said then no not tax related. By this time I said sounds like a scam to me. Was asked if wanted to continue call, said no, she hung up. I used to work in a call centre so can spot a hard sell tactic. Unfortunately didn’t get clear answers, now blocked after reading comments.

Claimed to be able to get me a refund from HMRC. New my name. Simply stopped call and blocked number.

Phone rang, answered and said hello, then hung up. Searched and found out it’s a scam.

Cut off as soon as we’d picked the phone up at 8.15am today. Three similar calls yesterday with Manchester phone numbers. Nuisances!!

Called claiming to offer assistance with a refund from Hmrc - asked her why she is making fraudulent calls and hung up

They knew my name and offered me a refund. I said no thank you and ended the call. The caller sounded of Asian nationality.

Just had call from this number didn't even speak.

Just been called from this number new my surname? Ended call after she asked for my house number and postcode told it was for a tax rebate

I’m very suspicious, checked up on “companiesintheuk.co.U.K.” Very interesting. Have a look.

Luckily, my phone tells me if a call is suspected spam or fraud, so I don't answer. Then I block the number.
