Long connection time, someone from India saying they were from PC World. Not enquired there or purchased anything so definitely a scam
Scam caller claiming to be from O2 - seemed to be located in an Indian call center and claimed that they would give me an automatic discount on my bill. Then had a verification code sent to me by O2 and kept pushing me to give the code. Knew it was a scam so I put myself on mute and left the phone to see what would happen - she ended the call by saying 'f**k you' and hung up.
Definitely a fraud call, however I had 30 minutes to spare so amused myself going along with the caller. Using a completely stupid name, Theodore Rumptlioon-Bartwickler, which I had to spell out numerous times. T for Tyrannosaurus, H for hermaphrodite, E for earwig. The nonsense going back and forth must have been picked up the telesales callers’ manager who then joined the call to have a got at me for being a timewaster, to which I completely agreed with him!
Very faint voice and when I said I couldn't hear, please speak up, the caller ended the call. I have blocked it on my phone.
Call indicated it emanated from Solihull Had a strong Indian accent and said his name was Steven Carter calling from Vodaphone and had good iPhone deals Told him I was on Telephone Preference and would report him, he hung up
Difficult understanding what she was saying. Said about 02 discount off my bill, enter a code. I am not with 02, (but in any case I would take no notice of this kind of phone call) so I told her to go away.
Claimed to be from O2 offering a discount on my bill. Told me to be alert to fraud, to never give the one time code number the were going to send me out by text to anyone. I said it all sounded very odd, discount could just be applied to my account and that I was hanging up. Received 2 texts immediately purporting to be from O2 with a fraud warning and a code. I will not be using it!
They waste my time, so I went along with him for 5 mins and wasted his time 😀
Called me claiming to be from Carphone Warwhouse - caller was Indian and the background was very loud. I couldn’t really make out what he was saying but this was one of several similar calls I’ve had over the last 2 days all from different numbers and I’m confident it’s a scam so please be vigilant / aware and check in on vulnerable people in your life who may not be savvy to these types of phishing attempts.
keeps ringing but have always been at work so unable to answer at the time. have now read all the entries above so will be blocking this number. thanks everyone
Claimed they were from carphone warehouse and said they’ve got a good deal. I said no thank you, he then asked how much I’m paying. I again declined and said no thank you. He then told me to fuck off
Said I was getting a discount on my O2 bill I said I'm not with O2 and they hung up
Called picked up they hung up it's a scam call by the looks of it
