The exact same just happened to me. Said he was from a company called PDN and was dealing with my Domain registration

The guy introduced himself as ‘Ian’ and sad he was the my domain name original owner and I bought it off him and he named a date, a date that he could have obtained from the directory of when my domain was purchased, He stared to continue and I cut him off, clearly a scammer!

claimed to be from nominet, and just wanted to speak to person who registered domain, asked what it was regarding and he wouldn't say, so i said ok bye.

Asked to speak to owner of the business (I am a joint owner) but he wouldn't talk to me as insisted it was my partner's name on our domain name. Was very rude and dismissive advising me that it was about our domain name and in our interests to talk to him. Said he would email the owner but no email arrived. I put the phone down.
