Pretended to be our company supplier. Total lie
Called claiming to be from British Gas, when questioned they couldn't provide any details and ended up putting the phone down on me.
Absolute scammers - do not engage and do not give them any details. Remember you have the right NOT to respond, put your natural politeness aside or they will hound you forever. If you can, block the number once you have hung up.
Phoned many times pretending to be from Octopus, hassling our staff saying there was an error on the postcode on our invoice. Had to speak to him myself to stop them calling, when I told them their number was listed online as a scam call center he realised the game was over and hung up.
THEY ARE NOT SCAMMERS THEY HELP FOR UPDATION OF YOUR ACCOUNTS THEY DONT ASK FOR ANY DETAILS SHE WAS VERY COOPERATIVE
Pretended to be Octopus - they knew my mpan number, but wanted a lot more detail which I wouldn't give. I asked them to send an email or letter, which she said she couldn't do. Said that she wouldn't be responsible for incorrect billing, I said, ok, and she hung up. Prior to this call, they had been pestering the receptionist everyday for the last few weeks. Blocked from calling.
saying from Eon, problems with the account - advised I would call Eon myself. he got very stroppy and said any incorrect bills would be our responsibility if I didn't do as asked. SCAM
Claimed they were from EDF, the business's utility provider and advised that there was a technical issue and they needed to confirm our meter readings and details. I was suspicious when they started asking about contract dates and asked if I could call him back and he said he could place me on hold. I hung up the call and googled the number and found all these negative reports.
Called five times in succession claiming to be EON. I tould the gentleman (who seemed to from eastern parts) to Foxtrot Oscar all five times but he persisted. I get these calls around half a dozen times a day. Not good when your mental health is a bit fragile.
Asked my name and said they were from octopus energy. Guy spoke with broken english accent.
Persistent! Calling almost every day even though we told him we rent! Claims to be from our energy supplier about incorrect meter and account details! Just phishing for info and is VERY pushy
energy supplier wanting accounts payable hahaha
Heavily accented man called on a very poor quality line pretending to be from our energy provider. We've had similar scam calls in the past which I suspect is from the same group just with a new number. Same request as always for meter numbers and account details. Obviously our real provider will have these and would be able to name the account holder when asked, but even then watch out, as they will trawl companies house for names and call back trying their luck. I told him a bunch of nonsense about being with a new supplier and he pretended the call was actual following up on that to make sure our last invoice is correct. Didn't like it when I said I was feeding him bull**** back.
They just called again for a second time less than 2 hours later. Spam call
