Pretending to be from Octopus and saying our postcode is wrong on our invoice and to confirm the right postcode, I just hung up

supposedly regarding British Gas bills

They called, saying they were from Smartest Energy, to tell me they needed to check my postcode and asked for the end date of my contract. I told them to send me an email, and they hung up.

Claimed to be YU Energy. They had our post code and site number for electricity. They wanted me to check if details on our invoice match their records. Threatened that if I didn't help them I might risk being overcharged.

calling pretending to be british gas - had our email on file and sent a password reset request! - just tell them you have a direct contact for BG and they hang up

Pretending to be from British Gas stating our post code was wrong on the invoice as their meter reader had submitted it wrong & our read was mixed up with another business. LIES!! Easiest to disprove we've had no meter reader on site in the last year.

Supposedly from British Gas, apparently we have a leak lol as we are using too much!

Rang pretending to be from our supplier British Gas, only we aren't with British Gas. If they were in deed from British Gas, they would know that.

Claimed they were from EDF and that there was a problem with the readings on my meter trying to obtain information about my usage etc

Claimed to be from Octopus Energy and our business postcode was wrong. Asked if I'd received the latest bill/invoice. I asked if she was actually calling from Octopus - she hung up

3 calls in 3 minutes from the same number, claiming to be from British Gas. started listening but they got our company name muddled up so the third time they were told not to call back.

Pretended to be our company supplier. Total lie

Called claiming to be from British Gas, when questioned they couldn't provide any details and ended up putting the phone down on me.

Absolute scammers - do not engage and do not give them any details. Remember you have the right NOT to respond, put your natural politeness aside or they will hound you forever. If you can, block the number once you have hung up.
