Just had a miss call but new straight away not to answer it showed as Liverpool aswell
This is a genuine call from Currys Logistics. They call you to confirm delivery arrangements
This is a call from Curry's. They confirm your order and then use it as an opportunity to try to sell you cover on the items you bought. There wasn't any pressure when this was refused
This is definitely a scam, I checked with Currys although the young lady that I spoke to for some reason thought it was funny and so Currys won’t be doing anything about it. Said she would put me through to their fraud team but just gave me a number for action fraud. I will of course report it to Action Fraud but how are the scammers getting people’s details? Must be some weakness in Currys systems but they aren’t interested.
Everyone saying this is a scam - I really, really don't think it is. I ordered a fridge from Curry's, they phoned to advise me on a delivery date and then asked if I'd like the warranty for the fridge. I politely said no and they were totally fine with this. Doesn't appear to be a scam.
I just spoke with them there (after reading this page). I think I can confirm that IT IS CURRYS. My order is for collection in-store, they just confirmed when the order would be available and they offered me damage cover. They didn't ask for any personal details. If it was a scam it was a rubbish one.
Just received a call from this number, after seeing a lot of places saying its a scam, I spoken to the live chat and they confirmed they've checked everywhere and don't see this number listed as any outbound calls. I imagine i may be related, how else would they know I just ordered a Washing machine, however live chat said its not legit as far as they can see, be cautious.
It’s currys. Delivering my laptop no bank deets or anything req just a confirmation of post code
Its curries pc world it's not a scam. They call me everytime I buy something to offer extras.
Currys I had a fridge delivered and they were following up. Obviously they tried to sell me a warranty as well.
From Currys, inviting me to take out supplementary warranty / insurance on a product purchased the day before, despite being instructed "no marketing"
Curry's (probably) bought an item the previous day and started getting calls. They didn't leave a message.
I ordered something from Curry`s a few days ago and I am waiting for delivery. I received 2x call from this number and I did not answer. As I checked this number and saw posts here about same company then I realize it could be Curry`s.
It is not a scam I rang curry’s back and confirmed that this is not a scam.
Started talking and then said hello and was cut off I’m not sure whether it was a valid call or not but I will be put on my guard for this type of call
I've bought nothing from Curry's but received a couple of calls from this number. I didn't answer, and just muttering was left on the voicemail. I blocked the number; even so, they've rung half a dozen times since.
This is either Curry's or a tele sales team working on their behalf, it is not a criminal scam but i would class as a typical modern day legitimate commercial scam by trying to sell you a product care and repair package for a monthly fee which of course on a brand new product you wouldn't need for at least a year after purchase and even then i personally would never enter into such an agreement, but some people may like what they offer.
Currys -- seems to be genuine as they knew my name and recent order. Didn't ask for any personal details, just wanted to sell insurance policy for purchased product.
Definitely a scam! Who the hell rings at 7pm and doesn’t speak when the call goes through?
They phoned earlier today. I didn't answer and they left no message. They phoned again a few hours later and I answered. The guy said he was Currys PC World and asked me if my purchase was for collection/delivery etc etc. I questioned him on this stating that if he was Currys PC World then he should have access to this info. His reply was that he didn't. That info was not available to him apparently. I asked if he worked for a 3rd party company on behalf of Currys PC World, but he indicated that he worked for Currys PC World directly. He then went on to ask me why I purchased my product (a new purchase/to replace an old one etc) to which I stated that I didn't want to divulge that information. He quickly but politely ended the conversation. I'm not sure if this is a scam, or simply Currys PC World trying to gather data.
Currys about my deliver, no passwords or info was asked. Actually good info he told me about time slot. So deffo not a scam
Not spam at all! Just Curry's to talk about a recent order.
Phoned about my order. Sounded quite professional and new specifics about the order. However he kept saying sweet which was a dead giveaway
They lied to you - It is their Sales team. Currys do this all the time, you'll probably get a call when the warranty expires in a years time, from the same number, to see if you want to extend it. Clearly the generic call centre haven't a clue.
Not a Scam - It is Currys sales team. Spoke to one advisor after fist call received - Call centre advised it's not Currys which had me worried. Phoned Currys back on the second call to report, and the second advisor told me it was them, and that the sales team are confirming the order placed online and delivery dates.
They rang me today claiming to be from Curry’s, knew all my information and order. Then asked if I’d like to take out insurance on my product and if so they would need my card account number, I got suspicious so asked them to call me back in half an hour so I could check things out, never rang back.
Had a call off this number claiming to be from currys, asked me if i wanted extra cover for my item, they knew my name and what i had ordered. I got in touch with Currys through thier online chat the said it is not them and the number was not associated with them and dont give them any details. I said I would not use thier online services as they may be leaking data but they passed it off by saying it could happen if customers emails get hacked. Doesn't really explain how they got my phone number.
I work for Currys and this is a genuine Currys outgoing number. I had to double check myself first but it’s definitely not a scam number.
Not a scam - this is Curry's calling to offer an insurance/warranty plan for an item which I have just purchased for Christmas. Didn't need the service, but the guy who called (Mo) was lovely.
Knew I had made a purchase from Curry's but I refused to give him any personal details. If companies such as Curry's want after ale reviews they will normally do it via e-mail.
scam bunch if frauds claiming they are currys
Person claiming to be from Currys, asking if i wanted insurance on a device i ordered from currys. They knew my name and order history but still wanted my addres and full name.
?Curry Customer service? Supposedly they wanted to update me about my recent purchase, but they were asking all my personal details "for security reasons". I finished that call and rang Curry's, who denied that phone number was them.
This was a call from currys . Just wondering about health and safety for the package . They explained to me that they wanted to make sure that the owner is capable of carrying their items and if so a safe spot to place them . So if their staff needs to help they can have all the info they have to help . They only wanted phone number and address. May be fake but sounded real to me..
Think this is a scam. Similar to other calls, the person calling said they were from Curry's and asked me to confirm my order details. Then asked me if I wanted extra 'cover' for my product. Alarm bells rang as I guess he was going to ask for bank details. I said I would check about cover on-line at which point the line went dead. How are these people able to know we are all Curry's customers? I checked with Curry's and they confirmed they have no record of a call to me and would not have asked me to buy extra cover in this way. BEWARE!
Did anything come of this? I had a similar call
Scam! They called me today claiming to be from Curry's. They knew 1 part (of 3) of my Currys order, but I got suspicious that they didn't know the rest of my order, so I said I'd call Curry's direct. I called Curry's and this call was not from them. Glad I hung up when I did... I suspect they were going to try to offer a discount on the order or something along those lines, and ask for card details, but they didn't get that far with me
Think it may actually be Curry’s. They had my name and order details. Only asked me to confirm postcode. Didn’t request any other personal details, such as bank details etc., so maybe not a scam? Informing us that we needed to ensure a clearway for delivery of our goods for safety purposes of their delivery employees. This may possibly just be to ensure safety measures because of Covid. Maybe someone has a different opinion, but not sure a scammer can do an awful lot with just a name and postcode, or am I being naive?
Didn’t answer! But just saw previous comments about being someone from curry’s and I recently order something from there so obviously a scam. Blocked
Called by currys and it sounds like a scam
Called by someone saying they are Currys Customer Service about my order. Have checked with Currys and it is not them. They knew all my previous order history with Currys, very worrying and I've reported it.
