**Warning Scammers** Monday morning and a lady with very poor English calls me claiming to be from DHL she states that I owe money for import tax (£54.38) I did received a parcel on Friday in a DHL box. The parcel tracking number matched, however the parcel was delivered by Parcel Force and it was sent from a UK address (Exeter to Chesterfield!!) so why the hell would I be paying import tax!!!! I haven’t ordered anything from outside the UK in a long time!!! She immediately cut the call when I challenged her about it!! These scammers have no shame!!
Wanting me to pay £38.58 for a delivery. They had my name, package content, shipper's name and delivery number. The tracking does not ask me to pay for anything but they said they will send me an email with the details to make online payment. My phone displayed SUSPECTED SPAM so I got all this info off of a VM. FRIGHTENING!!!
Claiming to be from DHL, wanting customs payment for a parcel from America. Had a text and email on the same day saying the same. My parcel has been dispatched from America but I'm going to wait to see if it arrives as normal.
Two calls for Indian women after ordering 2 different parcels, 3 weeks apart, for the same place in Ireland to the UK. Both chasing me to pay import tax on the package when it's not even been picked up from the shop yet! How are they intercepting the details?! Somebody is leaking data at DHL?
Was called today telling me I needed to pay £56 or so to release my parcel from Holland. Asked why they had not emailed and she said the email would come later, this is a courtesy call. Told her this sounds like a scam and said she understood and bid me goodbye......
Anyone reporting this as a scam and saying they won't be paying simply won't be getting their parcels lol! Thirty seconds of research shows this is a completely legitimate caller. The fact is that if anyone sends you a parcel from overseas (including Europe, thanks to Brexit) you have to pay import duty on it. Simple as that. If you don't pay the duty the parcel will be returnedto its source. It doesn't make any difference whether you are a DHL customer or not. This is not a DHL charge, it is a government levied import tax that DHL is required to collect on their behalf. Note that some unscrupulous retailers might not actually tell you they are based overseas so the import tax demand might come as a shock - but it still has to be paid. If you refuse to pay it you won't get the delivery and the chances are you won't get a refund from the seller either.
DHL claimed I owe import tax.....Didnt pay but they knew all details of an expected international delivery. Very strange. I'll see if my parcel gets delivered!!!!
Scan caller along me to pay extra money £42 for import tax lols for days.....
As stated by others called my telephone claiming to be from DHL, Indian sounding male had a job to understand him, he knew my name, address, and the contents of a parcel I am expecting from Eu. Demanded £44.72 for Import Tax, when I refused to pay over the telephone he offered to send me a link if I gave him my email. Have contacted DHL direct am awaiting a response.
Claiming to be from DHL. Said a message would come through to my mobile where I can pay tax. I don't order anything online. Avoid.
I received voicemail claiming to be from DHL, saying I have a parcel coming from abroad which has an outstanding amount in VAT to be paid which was £58. The voice was an Indian man calling himself Pracash. The left a telephone number to call and pay which was 6570850182. I do have a parcel being delivered from DHL I have one coming from Europe. I have been told to clear the Cookies from my computer which we all collect when if we agree when visiting a website. Fraud is going to sadly get worse we just have to question everything. Best wishes S
They wanted me to pay import duty. They said they were calling me from HMRC.
