DHL calling to advise of duty fees payable on a parcel coming from overseas
Wanting an outstanding payment £25 claiming to be from DHL ****SCAMMERS*******
They called me asking for money even though I paid when I bought them..dhl!! Scammer
Yes i just got the call too. I ordered something on ebay and it does look like DHL have a leak the girl left a massage sayin i owe and to call them back with a number called herself natasha.
Yeah I just phoned dhl and they confirmed the call, I personally think dhl are the worst delivery company there is there tracking and delivery times and charges are terrible, personally I'll only use dpd or paisley freight whenever possible and I'll actually pay a bit more for an item on site that uses dpd over a cheaper one that uses dhl, with dpd order before 9pm u get it next day with a one hour time slot, using dhl is just a gamble imo,
Call me saying they’re From DHL and a parcel costing me £780.82 to pay off. I have no order and was a total scam .
This is a genuine notification of vat charges on clothes purchased from Sweden. When you get the text or email you pay dhl portal online. This is not a scam just another reason why uk shouldn’t left the eu.
Female Asian voice claiming to be from DHL, advising of a £42 Customs fee. Said it was just a courtesy call and when I queried why, she hung up. When I checked my BT account for recent calls in order to blacklist the number, it was listed not with the 1494 number but with the number of the last person that called a few days ago. Was this a BT listing error or some sort of sophisticated spoofing of BT's Recent Callers list?
Trying to get money or account details by voice call? Best not to engage with them. If it was indeed some courier, they would at least be able to send a recognisable letter/document to your address or have information or their online website.
Told me they were from DHL and they are holding a package as I owed over £45 for import duties. Knew it was a scam I've been getting emails as well from DHL but I delete them as they are spam.
Chinese sounding lady saying from DHL I think said something about import taxes, but was a very distorted line. Gave a reference number but didn't match what I received recently (DHL)! I think someone, somewhere along the line, is getting hold of some information, perhaps by flooding the DHL website with combinations of letters/numbers, or getting some info at the source, and then passing it to whichever country is the destination to elicit fraud. I wouldn't ever pay over the phone like this. I've checked the DHL link I was given by the supplier, and there is absolutely NO mention of any import duty, but that it cleared customs at Bristol. Be wary...
Dhl import for package from Italy asking for £67 to deliver to release a package, not ordered anything so told him to go away
claiming himself is from DHL and I have an outstanding import tax payment, and I have to pay through a payment link. Definitely a scam
DHL will send a letter for import duty they will never call... If you have an account - it is put on the account anyway if you 'were' to be in credit, again THEY HAVE ALL THE DETAILS they do not need you to supply (do they ! ?) SCAM - SCAM-SCAM even if this is a legit Phone No, expect that it is being faked.
Received a call asking to be put through to our accounts department & that he was calling from DHL. Definitely a scam
Impersonating DHL express & even send an email from a fictitious email account in Delhi. Do not click anything in their email & report it to action fraud & block their number.
Got a call from this number .. said they were ?DHL and that I had a package from Slovakia that I owed import tax on
Hm. I do expect package with Fedex! Yet, they keep calling me saying that the package is coming with DHL. Every time I reply - ok, I'll pay after I'll receive the items! I'm well aware about import duty taxes. Yet, I never had to pay anything prior receiving the package. Usually, after I receive goods I pay tax duties. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS CRAP! Legit companies give you a choice to pay tax duties after you receive your items.
I'm unsure if this is real or not but I'm sure it is legit. I ordered an Item and refused to pay over the phone. I noticed my Parcel was still not shipped. I checked here with my tracking number at DHL and payment was needed. Hope this helps anyone with a similar situation
garbled message with clear spoken number to call lol
I got a call from this number today, claiming to be DHL. I received a letter from DHL a few weeks ago asking me to pay import tax on an item I received 3 months ago from within the UK. It fully detailed the item I had purchased, and included a DHL facts sheet. I work in law and the letter looked completely legitimate, so I contacted the website I purchased the item from and they said the letter was highly unusual but if I paid the charges they would reimburse me. But something told me not to pay it. Today 'DHL' called again, from a number that came up on my phone as 'suspected spam' claiming I needed to pay the import tax on said item. As I say, I have had the item for 3 months already. I just hung up. Very strange, please please be careful in paying anything when this number calls you!
Claiming to be DHL Customs Duty Scam Call / VAT Invoice
I had a text from DHL telling me duty was due, and I knew that it was. However, as it was an unrecognised number I ignored the call and paid online on the DHL website, where I can track the delivery and full details.
DHL said i need pay the tax before i receive it, and he knows exactly status of my parcel
saying its DHL accounts dept. saying our account has a problem
This is a genuine number it is not a scam, data isnt being leaked, DHL Have all the shipment details as soon as the sender creates a shipping label so they can calculate the import duties before they even physically receive the shipment!
American voice - mentioned HMRC collection. Hung up. Scam
DHL scam vat call. I use DHL regularly and they send an email for any duty that has to be paid, they have never genuinely phoned me over this so do not pay.
DHL ,CLAIMING IMPORT DUTY NEEDED AFTER PACKAGE ALREADY DELIVERED, Previously Called while the package was in transit too with all relevant info,my adress the item where is was bought, even order number. This time, the time ,and date of dispactch was given, claiming Dhl required duty. .....................I respectfully declined, told him, it was a fraud,& I suggested, (im paraphrasing here..) that he, 'Procreate elsewhere' ............before hanging up.
**Warning Scammers** Monday morning and a lady with very poor English calls me claiming to be from DHL she states that I owe money for import tax (£54.38) I did received a parcel on Friday in a DHL box. The parcel tracking number matched, however the parcel was delivered by Parcel Force and it was sent from a UK address (Exeter to Chesterfield!!) so why the hell would I be paying import tax!!!! I haven’t ordered anything from outside the UK in a long time!!! She immediately cut the call when I challenged her about it!! These scammers have no shame!!
Wanting me to pay £38.58 for a delivery. They had my name, package content, shipper's name and delivery number. The tracking does not ask me to pay for anything but they said they will send me an email with the details to make online payment. My phone displayed SUSPECTED SPAM so I got all this info off of a VM. FRIGHTENING!!!
Claiming to be from DHL, wanting customs payment for a parcel from America. Had a text and email on the same day saying the same. My parcel has been dispatched from America but I'm going to wait to see if it arrives as normal.
Two calls for Indian women after ordering 2 different parcels, 3 weeks apart, for the same place in Ireland to the UK. Both chasing me to pay import tax on the package when it's not even been picked up from the shop yet! How are they intercepting the details?! Somebody is leaking data at DHL?
Was called today telling me I needed to pay £56 or so to release my parcel from Holland. Asked why they had not emailed and she said the email would come later, this is a courtesy call. Told her this sounds like a scam and said she understood and bid me goodbye......
Anyone reporting this as a scam and saying they won't be paying simply won't be getting their parcels lol! Thirty seconds of research shows this is a completely legitimate caller. The fact is that if anyone sends you a parcel from overseas (including Europe, thanks to Brexit) you have to pay import duty on it. Simple as that. If you don't pay the duty the parcel will be returnedto its source. It doesn't make any difference whether you are a DHL customer or not. This is not a DHL charge, it is a government levied import tax that DHL is required to collect on their behalf. Note that some unscrupulous retailers might not actually tell you they are based overseas so the import tax demand might come as a shock - but it still has to be paid. If you refuse to pay it you won't get the delivery and the chances are you won't get a refund from the seller either.
DHL claimed I owe import tax.....Didnt pay but they knew all details of an expected international delivery. Very strange. I'll see if my parcel gets delivered!!!!
Scan caller along me to pay extra money £42 for import tax lols for days.....
As stated by others called my telephone claiming to be from DHL, Indian sounding male had a job to understand him, he knew my name, address, and the contents of a parcel I am expecting from Eu. Demanded £44.72 for Import Tax, when I refused to pay over the telephone he offered to send me a link if I gave him my email. Have contacted DHL direct am awaiting a response.
Claiming to be from DHL. Said a message would come through to my mobile where I can pay tax. I don't order anything online. Avoid.
I received voicemail claiming to be from DHL, saying I have a parcel coming from abroad which has an outstanding amount in VAT to be paid which was £58. The voice was an Indian man calling himself Pracash. The left a telephone number to call and pay which was 6570850182. I do have a parcel being delivered from DHL I have one coming from Europe. I have been told to clear the Cookies from my computer which we all collect when if we agree when visiting a website. Fraud is going to sadly get worse we just have to question everything. Best wishes S
They wanted me to pay import duty. They said they were calling me from HMRC.
This number has called me on a few occasions when I've had DHL deliveries. Looking for duty payment for a package that I'd already received. They've sent me text messages and they know the tracking number of the package
Ringing me from DHL claiming I had to pay £60 for HMRC import tax ahaha don’t pay them don’t get scammed

Made an order from Hong Kong and was contacted by this number claiming to be DHL. Almost got me as they know what I ordered and the expected delivery date.
Phone call wanting customs duty paid up front prior to shipping wine from Portugal, obviously a leak in the system DHL are usually the carriers, duty was not payable on this item so a scam.
Claimed to be from DHL asking for import duty money.
Phoned up claiming I owed import taxes - I have a receipt that I have paid them and DHL won't release goods until the bill is paid. The amount they said was overdue was not correct. DHL obviously have some leak of their data as I've never used DHL before and now they are claiming to be from them.
Had a voice mail from a Chinese woman saying she was from DHL wanting me to pay £42.40 for a parcel my brother had sent from America. Went on the DHL website my parcel had already been shipped to me. How did she know my brother had sent me something + what his name was?
