The city’s data-smog was thick that night when the ping hit—62880 Binance, claiming I’d shackled a Ledger Live to my Binance API. If it wasn’t me, they wanted me on the horn at +44 1273 458654. Timestamp: 16:46, Sunday, 11 Jan 2026. Smelled like a low-grade phish job from some gutter-level scammer. Just one lonely number in the drop, no shadowlink to chase, no neon breadcrumb trail—only the bleak promise of dialing into the void. And with Google Voice locking its temp-number vault in the UK, the only way to play rogue would be to spin up a private PBX, wire in a SIP trunk, spoof your own CLI through a VoIP gateway—like building a black-market switchboard in some rain-slick basement. Too much grease for too little juice. I let it die in the static.
