Pretend to be from Ovo, my former supplier in my previous home. Ovo know nothing about it.

fake ovo call very convincing though

I had a scam phonecall today. Claimed to be from OVO. Had the background call centre sounds as well. Well spoken South African accent. Asked me to confirm my details for security so that she can carry on the call. I was about to go through security. I paused because I'm a stickler for privacy. And I'm pissed off with OVO. I asked her to confirm why calling so I know you're legit. The person hung up. Googled the number: turns out hundreds online have been duped by this number. It was VERY realistic (exactly like OVO calls) and also I'm currently in Comms with OVO so it made sense they would call. Ridiculously and chillingly realistic.

Numerous calls from this number, now blocked ~ asking for personal details. Do not give them any info. , hang up and block !!

Said calling from Ovo - I have an account with them. However I said send an email and I will then call back. Better be safe than sorry.

Foreign lady called said from OVO and she knows my first name. And because I just started my OVO account so I beleeved her. She asked about my family name, post code, birthday. And then she said I have 99 pounds in my account in debit and I have to pay for it. Because I know my account balance so that’s the moment I realized she lied to me. I’m so scared that I gave her my personal information. Block the number already.

Claimed to be from Ovo energy, asked me to confirm personal info, sounded dodgy to me so I hung up quickly.

Caller claimed to get from ovo energy trying to get me to pay an amount different to that on my online account. Called ovo energy and they confirmed that they do not know this number, to block it and not answer the calls.
