My elderly mother has just received the following txt Text msg claiming to be from the bank Barclays: A new Direct Debit for £659.99 to ABERDEEN CAR HIRES has been set up and is due to be collected on the 23rd of each month. Claimed to be from ‘auto customer care’ organised by my mobile provider. Asked me who my mobile provider was, I challenged this as they should know, they hung up…

Answered but no response - silent call so hung up
Claiming to be from O2, offering ‘45%’ discount but require to send a ‘message with a code’ first. Am O2 customer but have all settings to email
Another scammer
First claimed to be from 3 mobile. I told them I’m not with 3 so he said he was calling from Caroline Warehouse on behalf of 3 mobile. I repeated what he said and how absurd that was and he realised he couldn’t scam me and reluctantly ended the call. This is a scam.
Rung twice but could be a spam / scam number
Claimed to be calling from O2 and they were offering 45% off my existing contract. I recognised the area code was a Sheffield landline number and said if I am interested at any point, I'll google O2s number and call back as this is likely a scam. The woman said ok and hung up lol.
Claiming to be calling about my O2 contract, I don't have O2!
Didn't recognise the number. Didn't answer. Checked on here. Glad I did.
Calling from UK mobiles, called land-line twice mobile once today (its currently 10 am) Claimed to be UK. mobiles Yeah right It's an Indian call centre
Unsolicited call. Previously have had calls from other numbers offering “mobile phone deals” . Those numbers had reviews indicating CarPhone Warehouse (a defunct company) scammers. Seems either that they just keep on trying (if you ever answered just one of their calls that showed it’s a live line/account) or sell the number /potential lead to other similar scammers
