They left me a message. It was cheshire schools transport. It was genuine.
Scam call I believe using an old Cheshire East number as it initially flagged up as a school number I had stored in my phone.
I received 2 missed calls from this number. I live near Cheshire but there is no reason why a Cheshire Council would be contacting me. I can only assume it is a spam or fraudulent call under the guise of an official number.
As above (Jimmy's comment). I received a short call, which rang off before I could answer it to my work mobile. My number has only been operational a short while and I'm the other end of the country to Cheshire... Clearly something happening.
My wife and I have both had missed calls to our mobile phones from this number (one benefit of having a mobile which only rings for a short time before cutting off). We have no reason to be contacted by any Cheshire local authority or agency as we are based in Somerset. As both missed calls to my wife and myself were no more than 2 minutes apart (and our numbers are not even similar) and if the 0845 148 0060 number is a genuine local authority number, I would suggest that a local authority employee is misusing the system with some ulterior and possibly illegal/criminal motive. Cheshire West & Chester Local Authority need to investigate, report to the Police and take necessary action against the individual(s) concerned. As a matter of interest both our mobile phones have recently been registered with the Telephone Preference Service - our landline has been registered for many years and we were not aware that mobiles could be similarly covered

It's not just the schools, it can be any Cheshire West & Chester council department.
It's a Cheshire West & Chester Local Authority Number, It's the outside number used by all the Schools in the area. Weird way of doing it, but that's how it works under the internal telephone management system.

Just had a call from an Indian accented "Patrick". His English was so broken that I didn't even understand what he...
Unidentified. No voicemail left.
Said I had reported a housing problem. I said I hadn’t. He then asked me to confirm I didn’t have a damp problem....
Rang, no body spoke then got disconnected.
