Had another call from this number again to day, no response when I answered, getting to be rather annoying
08001615204.......again at 9am....3 seconds of silence and hang up.... scam.....as wit many nowadays... advise .. 1. let them start the conversation,,,,, 2. if there's lot of backroom noise, that's probably because they are in a scamming call centre in India 2. don't give any private/personal codes numbers or names 3.NEVER say the word yes. reply with "it is" or "correct" 4 or simply hang up and contact who ever they said they were. 5. get that number blocked. good luck.
I love the number of people in here who are ranting about this number. This is a genuine call from Barclaycard, most likely chasing payments you have missed! My direct debit for repayments hadn't been set up correctly so I had missed a payment and when I stated that I wasn't comfortable setting it up over the phone, the chap was really helpful and gave me a reference number to take into my local branch so they could help me in person.
They have phoned twice claiming to be from Barclay card. Obviously a scam
Caller hangs up but keeps calling.
Received a call from 0800 161 5204 9am today BUT I didn't know - as I have bought a BT8500 Call Blocker it was automatically blocked. Nuisance callers don't get through any more and it is much quieter now. I only speak to people who I want to speak to my friends & family. Good investment! The government should be prosecuting these harassment & nuisance callers. How have they got an 0800 number?? surely they should be vetted before issuing them.
Similar call claimed or be from Barclaycard but very unprofessional. Obviously a scam!
Complete scam. I've answered the phonecall about 10 times and each time they've been foreigners using names such as 'Derek' claiming to be barclaycard. They've just rang again and I told them I knew it was a scam and they just hung up. If they don't start the conversation with 'we are recording this phonecall for training purposes' it probably isn't who they're claiming it to be.
