Got me for £200 at a service station on the m25. Needed money to get his kid back to ireland after travelling from belgium. Said he was called John and was from nr Galway.
Scammer- just got done by him at the M1 services. He brought me to his kids in the car and said he needed fuel and food money. Got done for £70, could of been worse, I did take his reg number just in case so will report to police.
I just fell into the same scam with the same person from the above reports. Saying he's coming home, that he needs money for food, for gas in the car and for the ferrotboat. And he was with a boy who according to him would be his son. They are on the M40 towards Birmingham 12, 13 &14/12, Banbury Rd, Warwick CV35 0AA
M6 toll services. Hungry kid, from Belgium, getting back to Ireland. After two phonecall this asshole still denies being a scammer and feigns disbelief. Bellend.
Did you contact the police? I'm just in contact with the police at the moment.
Scammer, tried to get £250 off me. He then walked me to the cash point where another man was waiting. I felt extremely vulnerable as I was on my own. Called himself Paul and said he was from Belgium trying to feed his kids and get fuel to get him to a ferry over to Ireland.
Similar experience at M40 Services yesterday. He asked for £80, claiming his card was blocked and he needed cash to get to his ferry back to Ireland. Very plausible but I limited my exposure to £20 in case of a scam which clearly it appears to be. Interestingly, I offered the £20 without recourse but he insisted on giving me his number by calling my mobile. I haven't bothered calling or texting back.
Scammer - pulled me aside at services on the M1, asked me if I could help him out. The requests ramped up to where he asked me for £250 from a cash machine to cover his ferry back to Ireland. This man is truly shameless - he uses his kids to guilt trip you.
He got me too - showed me his kids and said he needed money to get them food. Claimed to be a businessman coming back from Belgium - a car importer - called Paul. Scammer and liar.
Scammer, got me at Cobham services. Said he was hungry, brexit had messed his card up, and he needed cash to buy a ticket back to Ireland. Fell for it when he said he was hungry.
