Same as above on 20/09/2024, new Lebara SIM via Vodaphone on a factory reset Pixel 4.

Exactly the same thing happened to me phone no 07537452550 sent by my phone?? 1.51pm on the 14th November cost me a pound now have unlimited calls and text and 50mb I cannot get anywhere with Vodafone they say I sent the text I DID NOT so 1 pound of credit lost,not very happy with Vodafone.

I echo the comments above. I had a £1 PAYG refund after complaining about an SMS which I never sent. No record on phone, number not in stored contacts. I asked Vodafone for these contact details: "Calling our fraud team free on 0333 304 1665/ 07789654405 – lines are open every day from 8am-9pm" in case it happens again. At the time of writing, "This number has been searched 319 times".

09/11/2023. Same as above today. I have Vodafone PAYG 1 SIM in spare phone. Charged for Text not sent and not in text app history. Vodafone Customer Service said you've been charged because text is on my account. I explained no text sent, adviser said It's there and wouldn't do anything. He said I have to go to Vodafone shop with phone and explain it all to them to see if they will refund my £1. Outrageous attitude !!! Customer service this is not !!!

Brand New pre-paid plan Lebara SIM inserted yesterday. Plan log online shows an SMS sent to this number on setup yesterday. No log of SMS in the SMS app on the phone. Something, I assume an app or web interface is registering via SMS but there is no sign of what it is or how. I did also use the YOTI content lock system that Lebara employ after getting phone calls, SMS and internet working on the new SIM. That does use SMS verification to the phone to authenticate the user, but receiving an SMS from this number (no sign of SMS text in or out to/from this number) should not incur a charge. This also does not explain people with phones in drawers, turned off, etc. at the time the SMS is sent and the charge is incurred.

Have been charged £1 several times over several months. According to vodafone I've been sending text messages (whilst asleep in bed) I have requested my usage, but this may take up to 1 month. Vodafone are not helpful at all, and are insistant that I have sent these non existant texts.

I had the same experience. I have a pay as you go plan and I was charged for a text message sent from my phone to the number +447537452550 ,even though I had not sent this text message. There is no evidence of this message being sent on my phone. Vodafone could not refund me my credit. They said there had been no reports of issues with this number, and therefore I would have to contact another branch of the Fraud department to investigate.

This must be a Vodafone SIM registration number because whenever I turn on my old spare mobile a charge later appears on the account, I don't know why they charge for it or deduct it from your allowance and why don't Vodafone know that it's a SIM registration number ? Yet to work out if the SIM sends an SMS to that number on restarting the mobile, does it do the same if you temporarily go out of signal range ?

The same thing happened to me on Wednesday , 26th July, even though my phone was on charge at the time. Vodafone insisted that I had sent the text., and have refused to refund me the £1.

I have had the same for this number, I am also on PAYG with Vodafone, and only new a text had been sent apparently from my phone when I received a message from Vodafone and I was charged a £1 each time when this happened in April 2023 and also July 21st 2023, I tried ringing this number and it is not in use, on speaking to Vodafone they are adamant I sent these texts and said the phone must of been disconnected since yesterday, which makes me feel that they are calling me a liar.

I have two mobiles one that I keep as a spare and mainly switched off and a new one both on Lebara Vodafone network, both have this number appearing as SMS on the accounts of both phones, Lebara are no help and it would seem that those with a Vodafone plan can't get any information from Vodafone either, if you have a call plan with allowance then most people probably wouldn't notice this number appearing, my spare mobile is on PAYG with Lebara so the texts appear as a cost, someone must know what this number is for.

Same happened to me on 1/7/23, I was charged £1 on PAYG. No record of anything on my phone, but when I contacted the Vodafone online chat TOBi, they said a text from this number had been sent from my phone. I could not see how, as there is no record of this number in my phone. So I googled it and found out it has happened to others. Coincidently, it is a vodafone number! When I was on the online chat, the person was very persistent trying to get my name, but I stuck to my guns that I wanted a refund and didn't want to give my details (I never registered because it is PAYG), and eventually I was refunded the £1. I will be forwarding this page to Vodafone.

Just signed up with Talkmobile (owned by Vodafone) and this number appears on my account that I have sent a text to it, when I have not. Perhaps used to register the sim?

Same as a has happened to my phone on 3 occasions Vodafone accused me of lying saying I had called the number which I haven't. Vodafone refuse to investigate

The same thing as commented above happened to me yesterday, so I have copied and pasted part of the comment, and inserted the date and time. SMS was sent via my Vodafone Pay as you go account, and I was charged £1, on Sat 6th May 2023, at 8.30pm. No Text or Calls were made from my mobile phone, and no internet was used on Sat 6th May 2023, at 8.30pm (interestingly also on a Saturday same as the other comment) but the SMS was logged on my vodafone mobile account according to the helpdesk. It does not show up in the history on my mobile under texts or calls. I have got an investigation going on about this now. Spent a long time onto the helpdesk trying to get it sorted out. The mobile sent this text itself - without my being aware of it, and it is not recorded on my mobile, so if I had not received a message from vodafone informing me that I had free unlimited calls and texts for the rest of the day, I would not have found out about it. I knew I had not used the mobile, so when I received this message from vodafone, I knew something was wrong.

SMS was logged onto my Vodafone £1 SIM so I was charged £1. No Text or Calls were made from my pkone or internet was used Sat 29 April 2023 but the sms was logged on my vodafone mobile account online. The same happened in early December 2022. Vodafone gave me the rouaround declining any responsibility and not investigating the fraud.
