Got a text message saying: "Hi, it's British Gas. We haven't been able to take the final payment for your boiler installation from the card you gave us. Please call us on 0333 202 9729 to pay ASAP.". This is clearly a scam because all my British Gas transactions have been paid successfully.
Message claiming to be British gas and that a payment just made was not able to be completed with the card used. Checked my bank account which had received and paid to b gas the full amount and the gas web site showed the invoice as having been paid.
Hassling my father-in-law for payment of a debt that has been written off - I don’t know how this individual knows about this debt but I have reported to to British Gas.
