Same as everyone else. They called me, said my name then hung up! What do I need to do?

Missed call at 3am uk time

asked for name, hung up.

Called at 6.30pm on a Saturday. Man with English accent. Asked if the number belonged to [my name] and immediately hung up.

Got two missed calls 1 min apart and a text asking to confirm my name

Called me in Netherlands at 4 am so 3 am UK time I did not answer and they called back No answer. Hopefully I’m seen as no. Responder.

received call twice, asked my name and got disconnected when I confirmed it. I did not call back because it was weekend in UK and there was background noise which let me to believe that it was call centre perhaps.

Called me at 5am Malta time, 4am UK time - very odd time for a call so I did not answer it

Similar to above. Called me from a UK number to my number in Singapore. It would have been 3.50am in UK. Said my name then when I said Yes, he hung up. I wonder if it is someone verifying a stolen telephone list, which he will then sell on as fully verified. A very odd call to receive.

Asked if this was my name (new my name) and then hung up. Called back again. Tried to call back the number and was turned off.

I suspect this is an identity theft number. I was called today and same, hung up quite quickly.

Called asked me for name verification and then hung up. I've had this from Sri Lankan numbers too, recently. I'm on a mobile number in New Zealand. I heard the scam is that they want you to call them back and then connect you to a premium rate number. I now block all these.

Called and WhatsApp message me from UK to NZ at 2.30am. Obviously did not answer. Asked if it was me (full name, job title at company I work for). Quickly blocked this number

Sent me a whatsapp message from UK to New Zealand at what would be 4am in the morning UK, asking if it was "me" (my full name) from "the place I work" (the NZ company I work for). Quickly blocked.

Texted a message on WhatsApp by writing: is this xxx xxx from xxx xxx? Indeed my name and full name were correct. I had answered " who is this? Read my answer but didn't reply. They got my number and my full name from LinkedIn I have removed my number from my CV. DEFENETLY SOMEONE THAT TRIES TO GET INFORMATIONS TO FRAUD IN THE FUTURE BEWARE

I received a WhatsApp message in NZ from this number. It would have been 3am in the UK. Knew my name but as with others, no other message. I think it's just some freaky weirdo with nothing better to do. Obviously gets people's names and numbers to try and spook you, probably a dark web user. I'm guessing nothing else happens from comments here.

Called while I was sleeping. It got routed into my voicemail as it is an unknown number.

The caller knew my firstname and lastname, but hung up immediately when I confirmed. Our number is an NZ landline.

Messaged on WhatsApp asking: "Is this MY NAME?" (as in, they knew my name). I replied: "Who's asking." Message was read but not replied to. Profile pic of attractive brunette woman. Details say: "Work number - Consultant at Randstad Sourceright."
