Claims to be a debt collector.... My credit score not affected, have not had a loan for over 15 years, no mortgage, no finance of any type for many, many years, CC's never in debt. A debt collector makes searches on you and it appears on your credit score. Ask them to send you a letter so you can call back. If you do get the letter, google the company/agency and use the phone number listed on the web AFTER confirming it is a genuine company. When you call if they are really debt collectors wanting to speak with you then they should be able to use the reference and find you in their system. Get as much info from them and do not give any away even if it sounds like they know you. Sacm!
