Said they were MBNA fraud department. I contacted MBNA and they said it was a scam as not one of their numbers.
Correction - I made the previous comment describing the call as a possible scam. I was contacted by MBNA by another means and found that this number connects directly with MBNA Fraud Prevention Dept. Scam on my card prevented.
Recorded call purporting to be from MBNA regarding possible fraudulent use of credit card. Message left to call 033 304 59714. This number does not correspond to any official contact number for MBNA so no action taken.
Called claiming to be from MBNA and wanted personal details re a suspicious transaction. Rang off immediately.
call came shortly after I had aborted a connection to a User Manual Supplier indicating that it was possible a fraud was taking place. Had experience of this company before so did not comply with their request to contact the above mentioned number.
said they were mbna and checking a transaction. It was automated. They said they would not ask personal details and yet the next question was my date of birth. I hung up. Previous I received a text from mbna who only asked if I had made that transaction, and I only needed to reply yes or no. Suspicious automated call !!
