Parents in law scammed. Spent next day on phone to banks cancelling everything. Not sure if virus left on computer, still to check

An impressive scam. Nearly fell for it. Unfortunately I did download something but I refused to buy their what they tried to sell. Ran the anti virus but nothing there

30/1/23. Impressive scam. Scary. As soon as I opened the internet these pop up appeared in the middle of my screen, Microsoft emblem all over it, looked very real. Official sounding voice over informing me that my computer had been infected by spyware, not to shut down or try to restart it, to call 02891249115 immediately, repeating it over and over.

This number was used as a scam "helpline" in conjunction with a computer virus that infected my parents computer. Do not call this number! Do not install anything they say on your computer.
