Tried calling claiming from E.ON, apparently my Electric supplier. Funny as they clearly are not and he wasn't impressed when I said I actually work for E.ON which resulted in him hanging up

scam about changing the meter!

Trying to come and change the electric meter which was installed last year, claiming it is not working. I calles Eon our provider and they said they have not instructed any one to come and change and it is most probably a scam

Trying to change electric meter. Strong Indian accent. Can't pronounce simple name. Not sure what the scam would be if I went ahead

I am getting calls from this number quite frequently they claim they are from British Gas Lite, but when I ask them to give me our account number they cant! They say they can only tell me the first 3 letters of it which is BGL which I would think every customers account number does! They keep saying they can save me money but I told them I don't believe they are who they say they are and I will ring British Gas Lite directly and then they hang up! What are they trying to achieve by this?

They have publicly available information plus some details of the elec supplier of a charity that they are trying to scam.

Called several times, says calling from British gas. I know it's a scam and told him so, he would not give up, told him to stop calling, he carried on, still knowing it's a scam I asked for his name and number to call him back, he said he could not do that. I said if he was from BG then I should be able to ring back. He said no mam. I said goodbye. He later rang back giving me his name and scam number to ring him back. As if I was going to do that, NOT!!! HE HAS TRIED AGAIN TODAY....HE IS NOW BLOCKED!!!!

Has rung four times in one afternoon claiming to be from our supplier, then from our accountants, asking for the manager and then rang back twice after I ended the call getting aggressive

Caller with a heavy Indian accent trying to find out who manages the non-profitable organisation at this address (which is a Church of England church).

Apparently from EDF claiming that our electricity meter is faulty and they are coming to replace it on 22nd. The electricity will be cut off while the repair takes place. Absolute rubbish as we don't have that supplier. They try really hard to convince.

Man with thick Indian accent claimed to be from British Gas. I hung up immediately having received calls like this before, although not from this number. He phoned back and left a message which I deleted. I have since blocked the number. I contacted British Gas who confirmed that they had not phoned me.

They stated they were from electric utility I asked them if they were from Eon and they said yes. The man had a heavy indian accent and he tried to transfer me to his manager. I hung up and he called back 5 times until I blocked them on my phone. Please be aware !

Allegedly calling from British Gas mainline [sic]. Avoid and hang up immediately.

Claiming to be BT to come and fit a new meter. Illegitimate
