Caller ID 02038767819. Claimed to be Sparta Telecom, gave me their phone number and Web site: 0800 9159396, www.spartatelecom.com. Offering fibre Internet and telephone service in connection with forthcoming phone switchover, for £43/month. They asked for me by a false name I have only ever given to known thieves, and assumed I was with TalkTalk (thieves didn't know this, & I left 10+ years ago). Didn't try to phish for financial details. The company exists so probably not theft, but Trustpilot said "most reviewers unhappy ... concerns re upgrades, sales practices involving relatives, non-agreed contract changes, unexpected charges, difficult to cancel or reach customer support". Reviews mostly 5* (fake?) and 1* (real), few 2,3,4.
