Keep getting calls they remain silent so I Hang up

Just had a call from this number, said they were the DWP. When asked what DWP stood for they replied Directorate of Work Performance ! They hung up when I started questioning that. English voice.

Asked for Mr or Mrs Ayling and when I asked what she wanted was told in a rough manner that it was because I'd worked with machinery. When I said I didn't , never had, didn't appreciate being called at work and furthermore her records were out of date as my husband had passed away seven years ago she continued to argue with me that she'd never asked for Mr Ayling in the first place and continued to argue with me. I told her to play the tape back and then hung up on her. Not feeling, no professionalism and no manners!

Just had a call from this same number, I missed it as left phone at home. Apparantly there is a fault when you return the call and asks you to ring 118 520 which is 2.40p/m from landlines total scam

Keep getting calls from this number - they just hang up when I answer. I wondered if it's one of those scams where they want you to call them back and they are in some other country and if you did call back it would cost you tons. They are wasting their time I will not be calling them back. I have blocked this number now but no doubt they will ring from a different number next time - there must be a way to stop these calls? Anyone know how?

Called while at work, unknown number so didn't answer and googled it first. Found this page now blocked, bit knarked that they got my number when I registered with TPS ages ago!

They have called persistently today every few minutes, and then just hang up. It is an automated system and they are just trying to get lucky and find someone they can make a claim for. They are parasites, and should be exterminated. I feel better now! If they call you - have a laugh and pretend you can't hear them. He He He!

Received a call from this number describing themselves as calling on behalf of a local hearing clinic, and telling me I was being contacted because I'd worked in a factory years ago. When I told them I'd never worked in a factory in my life the caller hung up. So rude!

I have 'call blocker' loaded on my mobile which automatically disconnects unwanted calls from 'private' numbers and those not in my address book. So I don't know who actually called, but it was this number....probably the same liverpudlian guy telling me about the injury accident I cam claim for!!!! despite, touch wood, never having had one.

Yet another set of nuisance calls about whether I'd worked in industry. I blocked the previous number used. I told this lot to take my number off their list or I would start billing them for my time. They hung up. I blocked the number (very easy to do on iphone)

Silent call today from this number - not for the first time. Previous calls have given the same spiel described by other callers. Call is coming through to a direct dial number on a large company exchange. As this is owned by a firm of accountants where the loudest thing is the coffee machine, their targeting leaves something to be desired! Tip - feign deafness. They get annoyed and put the phone down.

I get calls from these people regularly despite having told them i have never worked in Industry. They start calling from 14:00hrs last call today was 16:28 which is now getting very annoying as i have to leave my phone on as my husband had a heart attack recently and i am always on pins in case i get a call from him. I blocked a number recently for the same thing looks like i will have to do same with this one as they never listen to my reply that i have never worked in Industry. What with PPI, Solar Panels, Gas Boilers, changing Electricity suppliers the list goes on and the calls get more frequent by the day. Surely someone should step in and close these parasite companies down before more people are taken in with the thought of receiving something for nothing (Remember you get nothing back of any significance but the Company calling you will)!!!!!!

Harassment and abusive calls from Persistent seller trying to claim for deafness if you have worked in industry. Don't take no for an answer. Report harassment to police if they persist. Absolute cowboys!

Loads of calls asking for Sharon & when I try to say I'm not Sharon, so remove this number please' they hang up. I've blocked this number now.

I have been ignoring this number, I smelt a rat as soon as it started appearing on my mobile phone. I just silenced the call and waited to see a message, none left. After continued blanking in this fashion the volume of calls escalated quite significantly from twice a day regularly for a week, 9 am and 6 pm, to 3 times, then finally reaching 4 times in an hour. After visiting this site i blocked the number. Thanks to all on this site for the heads up.

Been getting several calls from these idiots on my work phone - have asked them where they got my details from and told them to remove them immediately... I have had several responses that are downright disgraceful - laughing, singing you name it. This company needs be removed from existence!!!!!!!!! National Advice Clinic????? Wasn't aware that I had worked in industry that had damaged my health!!! they obviously know more than I do.

I received a call from 020 3519 0692 the lady said she was from the National advice Clinic and asked if I had ever worked in industry and when I said no she apologised and before I could ask her to remove my number from their dialling list she had hung up. I have now blocked the number

I have just looked them up, they have a web site. A brief glance suggests they are a group of ambulance chasers representing people who have had their hearing impaired due to work. They clearly do not have enough claimants as they have resorted to the annoying tactic of cold calling fishing trips to find them. I have tried ringing them on their number but couldn't get through. Therefor I have left them an email informing them that I will invoice them for my time if they ring me again. And I fully intend to do so. I suggest you all adopt them same tactic. If they do not pay up, then take them to the small claims court. You will win.

Just received a telephone call from this gang for the second time at 2:40 PM. I told them that I had not worked in industry and enquired where they got my name and telephone number from as I ex-directory. They promptly hung up. It would be interesting to know who these people are and who they represent. They must be some form of claims company or agency acting on their behalf. They do appear to be quite thick skinned so they must be used to hearing hacked off people on the other end of the phone.

This number called me this morning at 11.39am, but my BT8500 phone picked up the message and asked it to leave their name. They chose not too. As the message tells them that I am screening calls, my phone rings ONLY if they leave their name, and then I can make an instant choice to talk once, talk always, block always or send to answer phone. I looked up the number on this site and found out who they were, then went straight into the calls received and chose to block this number permanently. This phone system is great!! I used to get on average 3 sales calls a day, and now its like the line has been cut. I get NONE. If your fed up with these type of calls, I strongly recommend this phone system. Ah!!! silence IS golden.

Called asking for me. Unprofessional laughing down the line, taking the mickey as I tried to enquire as to who they were. Talking rubbish so I hung up on them.

Called earlier on my wife's mobile which I answered and caller asked for me by name. Claimed to be from the National Advice Center and was calling about an enquiry I had made on their web site about some work I had previously done. I asked the caller what the work was which he simply kept saying "work" after 5 mins of getting nowhere I asked the caller what I did as a job, again he said work. After a little longer the penny must have dropped as he simply said "goodbye" and terminated the call.

These people have been ringing me consistently, so I rang the number back out of curiosity, I was given a 118 number to ring, which of course, I won't! It's time our highly-paid parliamentarians did something about this sort of thing instead of some of the stupid stuff they come up with.

They are rude they have not been given my number by myself and when asked how they got my number they just kept on talking about their service I told them I would report them for nuisence calls, the reply "good luck with that". 3 calls in 4 hours.....

This number rang me at 9:07 today asking if I had worked in industry as I may have a claim for hearing damage etc. I have registered with TPS so wouldn't expect calls like this. The British caller (Assume British as he didn't have a foreign accent) hung up when I said I hadn't worked in industry.

Just returned from a week away and found 10 calls over a three day period to my landline from this number. Went into work this morning and had two telephone calls within a couple of hours to my mobile number. Managed to get the caller to hang on long enough to ask him some questions. His name was Connor and explained he was from the National Advice Clinic, a company who has hundreds of staff who travel the country making appointments for people who have worked in Industrial Companies creating lots of noisy environments and therefore possibly making people deaf. I explained that I had never worked in factories and the only other person in my family who had, has been deceased for the past eight years and that I find these calls very distressing. Connor has assured me that he would remove both my landline and mobile number from their main database after 11.20 am today when he goes on his break (I won't hold my breath).

They've been ringing me non-stop and when I answer and stay silent, they hang up. They call me on slightly different numbers but they all have the same sequence at the beginning 020.

theyve rung me twice in the last hour. First time I didn't speak, they eventually hung up. Second time I told them I wasn't interested. They ask what wasn't I interested in? Told them I'm not interested in anything any cold caller has to say. They hung up. I'd say thank god I'm on an iPhone, but my blocked caller list is phenomenal, they must have hundreds of numbers.

These imbeciles must have called me in excess of 50 Times. I say the same thing everytime. Remove me from database. I had 5 calls in 1 day a few weeks ago. I said to the chap. I told your colleague less than an hour ago to stop calling, he said that's not true we have never called you before!!! They have just called again, asked for me by name, when I said yes speaking in a pissed off voice she hung up!

They say they're from National Advice Clinic and have I ever worked in industry. I keep telling them I do not want these calls. Today's caller "Andrew" hung up on me when I said I have never worked in industry
