Indian call centre selling on behalf of currys offering Vodaphone mobile deals. He asked what phone I have so I then ended the call

Sounded like an Indian call centre guessing you might be connected to a network and "surprisingly" offering you a cheap iPhone deal for swapping . Sounded like a complete scam.

The guy sounded like he was in a call centre in India. The guy said he was calling from my network provider EE. He seemed surprised and waited a couple of seconds when I said 'Yeah ok'. From the other comments, it seems like they are chancers going around saying they're from any old network provider. EE would not contact you from a random number like this. I hung up as the line was bad and I sensed something didn't feel right.

Struggled to understand. The number appeared as a 'local' one - why I answered it. Clearly trying to get me to buy something - only offering me a 35% discount!!

Said they were from O2, obviously overseas and scam

I am very security aware as I work in the industry. Somebody obviously from an overseas country like India or Pakistan purporting to be calling from EE Promotions, called my mobile to suggest they could get me a 40% discount off from my EE mobile contract (I am not even on EE). I gave no personal information whatsoever, not even saying which mobile network I am on, because it was an obvious scam phishing call. I have since blocked the number. Please be aware.
