claimed to be from, first direct but guy sounded very unsure of himself and wanted to transfer me to a colleague who would go over the security questions. that's when i ended the call.

HSBC will always call from a 0345 number. This is a scam. Your phone will register it as HSBC.
I didnt answer the call but they claimed to be hsbc and wanted my bank details when i phoned back to see who it was
