01872 267460 Negative Who called me from this phone number?

Just had a call from this number I didn’t answer

Claimed to be from Amazon Prime - automated message

I had a call from 01872267460 just now. I did not answer as I did not recognise the number. I traced it via online search as being a court in Truro and so I have emailed the court to see what they have to say about it, given there are so many others getting scam calls from that number.

It called my business phone and said my NIS number was compromised. 😅 Asked to press 1 to avoid a legal action. Right?!

Call received this morning (on the Wirral)

Claimed that my national insurance number had been compromised

Re the number belonging to the courts; These scammers can fake callerIDs as they usually come from VOIP systems. The calls themselves are probably coming from nowhere near Truro. He got as far as saying his name and that he was calling from BT OpenReach. Open reach are the company that lay the infrastructure and put in new lines. They have nothing to do with money from the end user so it's a poor quality scam at that.

Troublesome caller

Did not answer. Unrecognised number. Glad I left it alone, reading these comments.

This number has called me Twice and shows as Truro Court

This person was pretending they were from Amazon and that there was a problem with my Prime. I told them I knew they weren't calling from Amazon, and that I don't even have Prime (not true; I do), and hung up.

This number called me saying they were from BT and that my broadband had been comprised and they wanted me to download something, they were talking about my IP address being hacked from abroad. They were foreign and difficult to understand, I said I wasnt comfortable with the call and I was put on to a supervisor. I said the same to him and asked him to confirm he was definitely an employee of BT at which point the phone went dead......a scam call I would imagine.

Received call from Truro area at 07.36 today and they did not leave a message and appear to be another scam.

I did not get to my mobile in time to answer. I have been reading comments above about the number coming from a court in Truro. I find this very strange as I am taking someone to the small claims court in the near future but NOT the court in Truro but somewhere a long way from Cornwall. So is this somebody who is working for the Truro court or has access to nationwide court records?

Answered the call today but kept silent, they hung up after a few seconds so i guess they dont know me
