Strong difficult to understand accent, claiming to be calling from O2. Such poor quality communication would suggest otherwise so I told her where to go. Don’t know if this was general spam or scam.
The line was very faint and unclear and I could not hear what organisation the caller claimed to represent after asking her to repeat twice and increasing the volume on my phone. I told her I could not hear what she was saying and she hung up. Other comments suggest a scam and the poor call quality was suspicious as no real company could do business on such a poor line.
Didn't answer because it came up as potential fraud. Thanks to all that reported it. My phone contract is due to end soon so very likely that scammers are aware of this and very likely would've been similar to the above reports.
My phone flagged up the caller as being Potential Fraud...
Indian accent, told me he was ringing from 3 network? I hung up and blocked
Claimed to be from O2, asking for feedback, when asked if they could tell me my name as a customer she danced around the question.
Quite likely a scam. They said they could give me a "discount code" for O2 phone credit. My phone provider isn't even O2. Despite this, I played along for a short time. I was transferred to a "manager", who asked me if they could text me a six digit code. I would be required to read back this six digit code in order to "redeem the discount". An account recovery option for various websites involve texting a six digit code which is used to gain access to the account. I said "this sounds like a scam" and they insisted it wasn't, because they were not asking for any personal identifiable information. I hung up after this. Do not fall for this scam!
Indian guy said was from 02 then another lady come on told them wouldn't speak any more as don't know who they are offered 30 per cent of my 02 bill got weary and I hung up will now block this call
The usual telling me they are from a phone company and "how are you today ma'am". Didn't believe any real phone company would have such a poor quality phone line or not have the name come up on my phone automatically. Didn't believe them and no apology email or return call so I'm guessing it's another scam.
