Caller was Alex who was "contacting people on behalf of the local council" to ask a series of questions in order to see if I could receive some free green energy support (solar panels/insulation etc). I started answering a couple of questions but asked him to repeat one and there was a pause and then he repeated word for word, tone for tone, I asked him to repeat a couple more times stating I was hard of hearing and realised it was a recording (quite clever). Hung up. Called back a couple days later, I asked for the company name and he could not provide it and would not answer specific questions, just kept going through a script (certain it's a very clever recording). I suspect they are data mining.
This number rang my landline today. Apparently from Spalding! Dont know Number! When Answering machine came on, the caller hung up! That tells me, its a scammer, as a genuine caller would leave a msg, saying Who & Why they called!
Called twice….told chap not interested and blocked number.
Caller said he was from Green Energy in South London - his database showed my address was one that still had fibreglass insulation in the loft, (in his words, "that fluffy stuff") Then asked if that was correct. I left him to guess the answer & put the phone down
Said they were an Energy Company - I said they were a scammer! They thanked me for my time & put the phone down. It felt kind of automated though, like you were talking to a bot. I’m registered with TPS & do not use my home phone number for anything other than official purposes like doctors/hospital etc, so don’t know how they have the number. Be wary & don’t give information out.
Did not leave a message on answerphone so assumed it was not someone who I wanted to speak to.
man called Chris said he was from Green Energy Advice service based in London .... I asked 3 times where he got my number from before he could say any more he promptly put phone down ..... I guess some kind of Scam

Called me at 12 noon, just getting my dinner ready! Did not answer, after Googling - found this comment here - so, now wary!
