Claimed to be 3 mobile, said they were my service provider (they aren’t) so hung up and blocked.

Probably fraud, hung up when I became bored with making them explain stuff and got forceful about how they had to prove who they were to me. Phoned me on a mobile number initially, then this landline number. Claimed to be 3 Mobile, claimed they were my provider (they aren't). Said they wanted me to use a new SIM card they would send me tomorrow, but didn't know my address when challenged. Kept repeating how I'd get 5G data instead of 4G data with the new SIM card but that nothing else would change. Also claimed that 3 mobile was switching off their 4G coverage, hence this offer - which is nonsense (they are apparently switching off their 3G network). Seemed likely to be trying to harvest my personal data (address etc). A similar call some weeks back even arranged to send me a text message containing an id code, but that had been triggered by an attempted password change on my account with my provider not a legitimate verification id - I reported that to my providers fraud team. BEWARE!
