Unsolicited call, claims to be related to blood transfusion service. They have details of your appointment etc, but still do not confirm anything to them. Just being cautious.

They rung. Didn't give me much information. Thought they were scammers originally. Why they would ring on a Newport number and not their official number is beyond me
Interesting that its supposedly genuine as they just rang me and i havent had covid or volunteered to give blood plasma though i am on the blood donors register?
Incredibly, this is a genuine NHS Blood and Transplant phone number. They phone you if you volunteered to give blood plasma after having COVID-19. The person calling may not even be aware that they're coming through on an 01633 (Newport) number. You're asked a lot of questions about your personal details 'for your own security' but they are apparently not authorized to reveal anything about you that would reassure you that you're not being scammed, they just take information without giving any back. This is very bad practice, and the NHS should be urged to change its procedures immediately. If you're in doubt, call them straight back on their official 0300 123 23 23 number. However, they did eventually tell me my 'Donor ID' and then I knew for sure they were genuine when I asked them to tell me when I last donated blood. However, I have raised a formal complaint that the NHS are presenting themselves on the phone in an identical way to phishers and scammers who want to steal your identity.
