i just talk to the same guy today but because their number is registered in Manchester and i am based in Gloucester this raised my suspicion over a scamming plan disguised under manchester city council services How can the manchester city council being working with a third party firm with an unknown land line number to provide services ? very fishy !!!

As above Said he was from legal assist Indian I kept saying I couldn’t understand him so he hung up Asshole!

This morning, I received a call from an individual who claimed to be associated with the Council. During the conversation, he referenced a department within the Council that does not exist. When I challenged this, he then stated that he works for “Legal Assist.” I asked why Legal Assist would be contacting people to make claims, and he explained that he was a third-party representative. When I requested his company name, he was unable to provide one but mentioned that his email address included “Legal Assist.” He went on to say that, since I work full-time, I might not have time to pursue a claim myself and offered to handle it on my behalf. He requested copies of my ID and utility bills to proceed. I expressed my discomfort in sharing personal information, especially through insecure methods, but he insisted it was standard procedure. He then asked me to send my documents via WhatsApp, without providing any secure link or verification of legitimacy. When I questioned the authenticity of his claims further, noting that Legal Assist advertises 24/7 support while he stated they were only available Monday to Friday until 5 p.m., he was unable to respond. Instead, he asked again whether I wanted his help. When I declined, he abruptly ended the call. For record-keeping and potential investigation, I have retained a full recording of the conversation.

Claiming that they are calling from Council Housing Department and clearly scam with a south Asian accent.
