I never answer calls where I don’t know or recognise the number. I do a search from sites like this, which generally identifies whether it’s a genuine or scam call. I then block the number depending on other people’s responses.

Message from 'bank' that I instructed them to pay Amazon £249 and £999. Press 1 if I didn't authorize it. Just hung up.
Implied it was the Visa Fraud Department
vOICE TELLING ME MY AMAZON ACCOUNT HAD BEEN CHARGED WITH £300 AND OTHER ACCOUNT OVER £1000 THIS SHOULD BE STOPPED AS THE PERSON ANSWERING THE CALL CAN GET A VERY NASTY SHOCK.
Call ended within seconds as I did not speak
Robot female claimed to be calling from 'the bank' to tell about two high value transactions on my account this morning.
Automated voice tells you your card has been used for two payments and to press 1 for assistance. Told them I knew they were a scam and they hung up.
Recorded message saying it’s from bank security, I just hung up as soon as I heard that as it’s an obvious scam attempt. If you get a call from this number just hang up.
