Finally answered on third attemp. Windows technical department scam - ignore and block!
Twice today but no one there when we answer
phoned me at 7.45am today. when I answered it there was no one there. Rang the number back and went straight to message saying unable to answer call.
This number keeps calling me, sometimes up to ten times a day. Whoever they are they just ring off when they hear that I have a call screening system in place ('Truecall'). They must be scammers because legitimate callers would just leave their name and wait to be put through to me and not be put off by this. This reminds me how the same evil people, whoever they are, kept calling my 88 year old mother before she died last year. The the stress induced may have helped kill her - I am not exaggerating.
Same scan - says he's from talk talk and they have picked up internet connections.
This is a scam line so please don't give them any information. I had a call from Elaina at the Windows technical department saying I have a problem with my computer. I decided I'd try and find out who the company is so I can report them to TPS. I said I'd like some help but would like to know who I'm talking to before I give any information. She said windows technical department. I asked what company that department was in. She said Windows. I said I thought Windows was a product but would she give me the address. She hung up.
I keep receiving calls from this company claiming to be from Microsoft Windows - as apparently my operating system has downloaded multiple files? It all sounds too implausible to be true, so I rejected the call and I would suggest that others do the same.
Calling from 'windows' about the 'bad' files being downloaded from my Internet connection to my computer? Decided to have some fun and let him talk. Said I had high end computer security which stops the bad files - he said my security was no good because this was happening when my computer was switched off, and could happen even if I unplugged it from the Internet Said I couldn't understand how 'windows' were informed since I have a Mac - he said windows gets notifications about and can repair everyone's computers regardless of make, he didn't understand my Mac doesn't use a windows operating system. When I said surely 'windows' was just a trade mark of Microsoft not an organisation he said I clearly didn't understand and he didn't have time to waste and hung up
several calls daily, when I did catch them I had a problem with my windows apparently :-)
rang 6 times today................. love BT call blocker lol Time to tell TPS I guess and let them see what they can do (if they can be bothered).
Calls most days - sometimes 4 times in quick (1hourly) succession. Drops call when OGM cuts in.
