Had several calls never any message left
Ansaphone kicks in. No message left therefore do not respond.
standard call trying to make me renew a contract which i dont have anymore.
Woman said she was calling from BT and wanted us to confirm we were staying with them as our business broadband contract had expired. Told her we do not agree to anything over the phone and said still waiting for new pricing info you have already promised to send over 4 times but we are still waiting for it. She said she would speak to someone & get the info sent over and would call back to confirm the contract. She never went through any of the BT security procedures and asked for the old MD by name which made me suspicious because he retired over 5 years ago and its not his name on the BT account. Checking on here before she calls back as I had a feeling something was off about her
Said they were BT - very convincing, said they would email through a contract (she had the correct business email addresses) but so far I have not had anything through. Now looking into it further - it appears it is a fake BT person!
Kind of convincing but something's a bit off. I got a phonecall from Kim who said she was calling about our BT Business line. She said that all BT Business phonelines were being moved from analogue to digital and that we had to renew our contract in order to keep our phone number. I said I wasn't able make that decision so she asked for someone to call her back on 01473 956290. I checked that number online and found no comments about it, just that it had been checked twice. So I dialled 1471 and saw she was calling from 01473 956300 which, as you can see, has a LOT of feedback! I asked her twice, directly, whether she was calling from BT and she said she was working for a company that worked on behalf of BT Business.
Initially claimed to be BT. Knew my name and business number. Could not tell me the correct amount I was paying. Told me my contract was ended and I needed to renew. First of all they could do it for £10 cheaper then I said I am paying less than what you have just quoted so they knocked another £10 off. Gently pushing for me to enter a verbal contract there and then. I asked if they could send me something in writing they said they could. I said fine, you will have my email address please do so and I’ll consider it. When I pushed them as to their true identity the girl said G-Tech. Probably a name on the hard drive in front of her. She had one final push asking when was a good time to call me back. I said I would call her if I was interested in going ahead. Please note this girl was polite throughout and spoke very good English. Don’t let that lull you into a false sense of security and never agree to anything on the phone.
I phoned BT and they are nothing to do with them. They had quite a bit of info on my account, but couldn't confirm my account number, also asked for my mobile, which I refused to give. BT have this. Beware.. BT said its a scam.
Says they are from BT and had correct business account details. Told me contract expired in 2018, but having contacted BT Business they confirmed contract is current until November 2024! They also said they had not tried to contact my company.
South African accent. Got call from same people but different number at beginning of year and rang BT who said they weren't anything to do with them. Get a call roughly every six months. They keep changing their number
As mentioned by others, the caller said they were from BT, a Cathreen Pillay 01473956300 and said they were BT local business. They seemed to know a lot of info about the account and wanted verbal agreements over the phone.
Her name was Angel saying our BT up for renewel and that she can do it now - told her no must be the manager and she wants to call back. BT introduce themselves as BT, these are not them.
Also said from BT renewing current contract. Lots of correct details, but all a bit odd.
Caller said they were BT renewals, they had my name, telephone number and knew I had a BT account which had recently expired, They may have this from a recent comparison site that I used to compare broadband deals. Checked with BT afterwards who confirmed this was not them.
