This number rang my land line, I was out, they didn't leave a message. Is it a scam or not, ?It says this phone block 0144967 is operated by BT ---------- what does that mean ? is it a scam or not ?

Caller claimed to be reporting debits from my card by Amazon and Western Union. Both untrue. "Press 1 for further information" I didn't.
