Indian bloke asking about my phone contract, wanting info about what phone etc I use and ask for bank account informations etc , blocked
claimed to be calling from virgin media, I hung up
Called and phone said potential fraud. I am in Lancashire
Didn't pick up, don't know anyone in Ringwood. Lots of reports on here today so looks like a scammer doing the rounds.
Called me twice today within 20 minutes of each other claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse with a special deal on an iPhone or Samsung phone. This call is highly suspicious as Carphone Warehouse (as far as I'm aware) has never been known for making outbound tele-sales calls. And even when they did, they only ever did it when you were already an active customer on a contract that was literally just about to expire. But never as an inactive non-customer. And as a user noted above, Curry's would most definitely never do tele-sales calls under any circumstances. I can't confirm whether this is definitely a scam call, but it's extremely suspicious to the point where I would recommend to treat it as such. Do not give them any of your details (not even your name). Do not give them access to your computer for any reason. If they claim to be with a specific company, do not progress through any lines of interest until you can call that company yourself using the phone number on the actual company's main website to verify that company's authenticity. Most legitimate companies, do not waste time with outbound tele-sales calls anymore. View any calls you get of this type with the highest of suspicion and verify everything yourself before giving or agreeing to anything. If you're not willing to do that, then your default answer should be not interested and hang up. If they call back, block the number. Better to be safe than sorry.
Did not know did not answer. Phone gave "TELEMEETER" as caller.
Scammers from India trying to get your bank details for a made up iPhone deal. Do not fall for it.
Asian sounding woman. Wanting to sell me some special offer they had on a mobile or something like that. Terrible quality line. Spam or fraudster. They hung up when I kept asking which company they were calling from.
