This number called me today. I didn’t answer it. An hour or so earlier had a call from 0131 516 9670. Probably the same scam.

A cold call about replacement windows from someone calling themselves the 'Energy Care Centre', from a Glasgow number. When I told the caller that they shouldn't be bothering me as I was registered with Telephone Preference Service, she said that "my number had just come up on their system" and asked me how long I'd been registered with TPS. When I replied that I'd been registered with TPS for several years, she said that TPS registration needed to be updated every 6 months! This is utter nonsense - TPS registration remains valid as long as the telephone number remains live. But I'm in no doubt that the cold callers have been instructed to give this misleading response if anyone mentions TPS. A company that breaks the law by ignoring the wishes of homeowners who have registered with TPS, and then lies to anyone who tells them this - would you really trust them to fit your double glazing?! Report them to the ICO, and then avoid them like the plague!
